WE'RE HOME!

Coming Home outfit- that no one can see because Kyleigh has circulation issues....and is under three blankets in 90 degree weather... $170
Parking Garage Fees Paid.... $17.75 (told troy he should have gotten a one week unlimited pass for $15!!!)
Finally being home... PRICELESS!!!!

I must say that I am TRULY happy that she is home... but it was a little emotional leaving the NICU... it kind of becomes like home. You spend so much time there and make friends and the nurses are like family. Our special nurse Rita- who was our nurse almost everyday since the day we checked in... was there to see us off. Of course I cried when we hugged her goodbye... and as awful as it is... I know we will be back there at least three more times. Which is sad but comforting that at least it feels like home!

After rounds this morning they discharged us!!!! They told us yesterday that they were going to but not to hope to get to go until 2 pm. They are a little slow on the discharges!! BUT... we were pleasantly surprised by getting out at 11 am!!! First thing we learned is that 101 degree heat and a new baby is not a good thing!!! Kyleigh is NOT a fan of the sun or the heat!!!! Poor baby!!! Mommy had to be superwoman and fly into the back seat to save her!

The mile long walk to the car!! The corridor that leads from the parking garage to the children's hospital is literally like a mile long. They actually have a shuttle but we were always there at odd hours!! Thank goodness for Granny Jones' wheelchair or I would have never made it down there the tons of times that we went up and down it!!!

Man ... we are worn out. I sure hope that our sleepy baby stays that way for the next day or two!! All the adrenaline has left my body and I am now on the downward slide i believe!!!!! Say a prayer for us for an easy night!!
