So its been a WHILE since I last updated! Shoot me now! I know. What’s happened? Well wedding season hit Schmidt studio and we are trying to keep our heads above water! We have almost ended up in the hospital twice in the past two weeks with Ky. The major antibiotics they gave her for the infection after her surgery has thrown off the bacterial balance of her body. And let me tell yah… its BAAAAAAAAAAD… I am talking dead skunk, mixed with phosphorus and then congealed bad. Her poo smells like DEATH. We were about to die! So Dr.Joe met us at the hospital last week and had a stool sample culture done. He thought maybe it was C-dff (as seen on grey’s anatomy…) which is the opposite of e-coli… but it wasn’t that or rotovirus…. its just horrible. He went ahead and put her on a run of flagyl to try and control the bacteria. And that is definitely helping… now what happens when we loose the flagyl I dunno. Its getting to close to scheduling the next surgery which I am not looking forward to at all. She is so content, life with ky is almost easy now. The meds, the bags, etc…. its just normal. Now adding in something else… I am just dreading it!

On a brighter note Ky is eating oatmeal like a pro… today she even took a drink of Pepsi when she grabbed the can from troy! (yes we start em young!) She has been without an Ng tube since about a week after we got home from the hospital! She just took off eating and there is no turning back!

WE ARE 14 LBS NOW!!!!!!!!!! As of our last Dr. visit! That rocks our world. She is starting to feel like a rock to us! Its funny she is still so tiny yet we can tell the biggest difference in how heavy she is!

Even bigger news… we are pulling up! And sitting up for periods of time. Her jumparoo is her favorite and is really helping to strengthen her legs and back. AND she turned over today and ALMOST crawled. Well really she did crawl like 2 inches. So we went from nothing to everything all at once. Sigh. It really was nice to have an itty bitty for so long especially knowing that she is probably our last. Now she is getting bigger way too fast! But I hear that is how it goes with heart babies.

Her scars are nearly gone. I cannot even believe it. I tried to go back and make a slideshow with the pics from the hospital and they are harder to look at now than they were when I took them. I dunno if I will ever be able to get it together or not but if and when I do I will share it. I am glad I have the pics. We have to remember where we were even if it hurts like hell. And it does. It blows me away to look at her laying there half dead (and literally she was…. I didn’t know it at the time… but I do now.)
