I was able to chat with our Neurosurgeon in Chicago and they said that Kyleigh should have her full Urodynamics workup before we head to Chicago. So… I finally finished off the email that I had been writing to Dr. Alam for over a week! Dr. Alam is a peds urologist in Cincy that we have heard great things about! In true Cincy style he emailed me back last night. At 11 pm and 7 hours after my email to him. It just never ceases to amaze me that these doctors can find time for us!

He said that he would have two of the nurses work on getting Kyleigh a file together and getting some tests scheduled for us. I fully expect that they will email or call withing the week… its just how Cincy works.

I am also very excited because I got an email last night from the CICU Family Centered Care Committee and I will be attending my first meeting on Nov 29. I was invited to join the Committee after our nearly one month stay in the CICU. I am excited to learn more about what cincy calls “Family Centered Care”. I truly believe that it is the only way to go!! Hopefully I will learn a lot and be able to bring some of it home to Lexington. Not that I think anyone will really listen to me here… but I can try right?

Having experienced Family Centered Care up close it truly is an amazing thing! I will post more about that later!
