Today is my husband’s birthday!! Happy 27th Birthday honey!! People are usually surprised to when they figure out that we are only 27 and 25. I have a challenge listed on our studio website that if any new client can guess my age I will give them a prize… I have yet to have anyone guess correctly…. I dunno if that is a good or bad thing! LOL

I am such a stiff. I swear! I love my same Gap blank pants… my same Old Navy Jeans… my same peacoat and boots… When I first met Troy that was one thing that I really loved about him. He was never afraid to say anything or try anything. Although he has mellowed in his “old age” he is still very much that funky fun guy I married. HE is the one you can always count on to order the WEIRD bubblegum flavored ice cream or pick the most awful candy at the movies. He has these big ideas and will very often come home from the store with some “project” which never gets 100% finished. All the things that drive me nuts about him are the things that I love so much!

I enjoyed experiencing things for the the first time with him!! It has been amazing to “grown up” with him as we quite literally have. I had lived in my same house my entire life… slept in the same bed, in the same room. We truly have come a long way and grown a lot in 8 years! So many times you will hear people say that they “grew apart”… if anything Troy and I have grown together. We are both very emotional people and we live hard, laugh hard, love hard, and fight hard! And we are ok with that. People hear us bickering and give us “looks” but those who know us well LAUGH. Its just what we do!

I know that many people who are outside our immediate circle now read the blog. Many of you might not even know our story! Well… let me refresh you! Troy and I went to the same high school but never really “knew” each other. I was a senior and he had graduated when we managed to meet up at the State Football game for our high school! Probably the one and only time that Bryan Station would go to state! I have to say that it was very much love at first sight! Troy walked into my life that November Friday night and never left.

We met in December, were engaged by February, I graduated high school in May ( a year early- took out HS in 3 years…), were married on August 12, and started college on August 21. I was 17, Troy was 19. We spent three years enjoying college and it was very interesting that we were able to be pretty much normal college kids even though we were married! I was in a sorority, (TFJ all my AXiD Sisters!!!), Troy was involved in the Engineering Department. We lived two buildings down from my best friend, Amber (Croston) Miller, who is going to have a baby soon, btw. Owen came along three years into our marriage. He definitely wasn’t planned but he began the path that our lives have continued down. God knows where we would be right now if we were kidless! Our life has been nothing short of a whirlwind for the past 8 years with no signs of stopping anytime soon!

Our life is far from perfect or even sane. As a matter of fact its quite insane, but we have gotten used to it. I have to say…. we are doing a pretty damn good job at this thing we call life!! I am really proud of each of us as individual and certainly as a couple!! We make a pretty good team!
