In the middle of all of the madness of the past few weeks I have not had time to do much of anything but pack, go to the hospital, try to keep the studio afloat, and exist. I have had such amazing support from so many dear friends. They always seem to come to my rescue! Back when Ky had her heart surgery my dear sweet friend Julie flew from Salt Lake City to stay in my house and watch my boys. I have always known that Jewels was special. She is like a sister to me and I can never repay her for the kindness that she has shown to me and my family.
There are so many amazing charities that are photography related but both Julie and myself have chosen our charity to be Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep. While it may sound morbid in theory in practice it is a beautiful gift that we are giving the families. My dear friend Julie has become the main photographer for this charity for a MAJOR metro hospital in SLC. She has done as many as 10+ sessions per week and has sustained that pace for months now. I don’t honestly know how she does it. She gives of herself and her time in ways that I cannot even imagine.
I have been privileged to know Julie and am glad to see her receiving recognition for her amazing work in SLC! She was recently featured in the SLC Paper!!
Here’s the article: SLC Volunteer
I encourage you to take a moment to read the article and watch the video. NILMDTS is something that I have felt a passion for for nearly three years now. I wish that I had more time to devote to spreading the word in Lexington but I also realize that maybe now is not the best time in my life to be bombarded with calls. Some day soon I will be out there championing this organization with all my might. But for now I will take pride in knowing that my amazing friend is leading the way for photographers everywhere!!!!
Julie… I love you like you were my own sister and miss ya terribly!! I am so proud to call you my friend!
