A turning point?

Posted by Troy On January - 8 - 2008

Well the feeds were restarted 12 hours ago and still no vomit. She even had some graham crackers, cereal, and some Sprite on top of it. Perhaps she just likes EVERYTHING to start small and ramp up slowly. Hopefully this means at this moment I am sitting in the middle of the turning point. The moment at which things finally start to look up. The moment we knew that the colon was saved, the medicine was working, and that she will slowly tolerate the appropriate amount of food eventually.

In the past two days we have discovered Kyleigh is both dreaming and having nightmares. Two nights ago she woke up screaming and thrashing and didn’t even calm down for me. It took me a minute or two to get her to accept the passy and pass off back to sleep. That day was very stressful for her. However, tonight she did her Kyleigh talking in her sleep so obviously was having a good dream.

The other thing is she is trying to communicate that she is done with procedures. If they come and do something or take us to something that she doesn’t like she just started to give a weird moan when she was done. Kind of like a breath deep its almost over thing. Well now she actually says “bye bye” when she is done. She has even started to do it during vitals now.

Well she is back to crying and generally cranky so back to calm her down for bed. Troy out.
