Help is on the WAY!!!

Posted by Amber On May - 21 - 2008

Ok… I have been such a Debbie Downer for the past few days… time for some GOOD news! Yesterday I received a note from someone who is a friend of a friend. I literally burst into uncontrollable tears when I read it.

Hi Amber,We have never met but I have read, and reread all of your blogs numerous amounts of times and because of you i have also done a lot of reading on your daughters condition, just because i like to know what I read about every time you post a blog. I've read in your blog how you help people out, and how people have helped you out and i just think it's so amazing. I want to be one of those people that help you out, i don't know what i could do but i want to Pay It Forward i suppose, people have done nice and generous things for me through out my life and i want to give back, and after reading so much about your family, and i want to give back, i would love to start with your family. I'm in town every single day for work or other related things but i always have time on my hands when i could be doing anything for you-- running errands, laundry, dishes, organizing-- i'm up for any task and i actually enjoy doing those kinds of things. I would never expect you to pay me because that isn't what paying it forward is about and thats not what i'm looking for. I'm just looking to help, thats what i want to do. I know that this may be weird since you don't know me, but i'd like you to get to know me, i can give you tons of references and you can talk to people that have known me for a lifetime or just for a short amount of time. I'm not a hard person to figure out and i'm very down to earth. I will give you references if you need them. I plan on attending UK in the fall. I'm 19 years old and i took a year off from college to think about things and make sure i was making the right choice. I am a certified nurses assistant and i hope to get a job at UK hospital while i go to school there. If you would like my help, or to just chat. Feel free to message me back, i'm just looking to help someone out. I hope you are having somewhat of an easier day although as i read i know all days are complicating in there own way. i hope i can help you in someway. Don't ever hesitate to message me, and i hope this wasn't weird since we don't actually know one another.

I just have to tell you this could NOT have come at a better time. And you know… it has taken me a while to be able to accept help but I know that this is nothing short of a miracle and a blessing and I am willing to accept it… for Ky, for me, for the entire family.

To our new angel… H.H. You have no idea what your offer means to us… we truly truly appreciate it!!!! See you soon!

ALSO… if you will notice ————————————–>
For those of you who have been hassling me to HELP… there ya go. Those are all things we are in need of right now. These are NORMAL things that have become a strain for us simply because of the volume that we use. Her bedsheets are literally falling apart at the seams because they have been bleached so much. Her car seat cover and foam that cushions have all but discinegrated as we have to take the entire seat apart and wash it about once per week from her puking all over it. I know that she is uncomfortable on the long rides to Cincy from there not being any padding left in the seat because she wiggles and wiggles and tries to get comfy. I started shoving a blanket under her butt to cushion her a little and that has helped a bit. We got through at LEAST one if not two changing table pad covers per day. Today… she has pooped all day long so today we have been through three… I did laundry this weekend and already have a whole load of sheets and pads to wash. And the one other thing she desperately needs is a digital scale so that we can keep track of her weight on the SAME scale. Jumping from so many offices I never really know what her weight is and how it is fluctuating.

I have always said I am not to proud to ask for help for Ky. For myself maybe… but not for her. I know that get email after email asking what you can do to help… that list is what you can do to help.

    Amber,

You don’t know me at all, but I read your blog and pray for you all alot. I would LOVE to help you when I can. What size diapers does Ky wear?

  3. Amber Schmidt says:

KY is a size 4 diaper. We can’t use pampers as they break her out but huggies seem to do great. Thank you so much for the offer!
