Instead of the Karate Kid… Kyleigh has been dubbed the “Chiari Kid”… one of the side effects of having a Chiari Malformation is BAD balance and equilibrium issues. Yeah… that could bite you in the butt… as Kyleigh learned yesterday. She fell UP the stairs and whammed the corner of her eye right on the edge. I know it had to hurt like He!! because just two days earlier she hit the MIDDLE of the same eye from falling on the couch! She just cannot seem to stay upright these days… and if she is wearing shoes it makes it even worse. Robeez are OK but REAL shoes are out of the question. I dunno what we will do when she grows out of Robeez sizes!
Poor kid… I feel for her. I am sure she had the worst headache ever! I will try to get some better than “Iphone pics for you… Hannah took this one real quick like yesterday … but omg… her eye look BAD!

Ouch! They are so resiliant! And yes, we are definately saving the date! We can’t wait! Love you guys! Sean sent you the address I think.
Well can I just say that Jack often looks like that and just fell down 3 stairs today??? lol Then again he is a bulldozer that doesn’t watch where he is going!
Wow- that’s one good shiner!
Its interesting that she does better withOUT shoes. Eithene is exactly the opposite. Her balance and equilibrium are pretty bad, but from low tone in her feet/ankles/legs. She does MUCH better with shoes, and will hopefully do even better when her orthotics get in.
Does Kyleigh’s Neuro have anything to say about this? Its seems she is pretty symptomatic- has anyone ever said she will need a decompression in the future?

Poor baby!!
They get so bumped and bruised up at this age.
Hello,
I guess that’ll learn her… Ha Ha.. I hate the off balance issues, soon she will be taller then the couch and that won’t happen anymore! However when she falls from higher elevations it does hurt a little more! Thanks for always thinking of us, it means a lot to us to have you in our corner!!
Love you all,
Tommi & Amanda

LOL, my way to fall is to fall up stairs, I can so relate to that.
Hey we can compare . Maggie has a HUGE bruise in the middle of her forehead that she has now fallen on 3 times in 3 days ! Plus a bruise that is healing that looked like that by the same eye as Ky’s . Maggie has some VERY poor balance too . I’m trying to chalk it up as being a toddler but she is just so clumsy that its a bit concerning to me . I don’t know about you but I’m ready to wrap Maggie up in bubble wrap !!
