Prayers for a friend…

Posted by Amber On July - 24 - 2008

I have found great comfort in frequenting parent boards and socializing with other parents who have kids with special needs. Whether their issues are the same as Ky’s or not it still is a comfort to know that there is someone else out there dealing with a life less normal.

On one of the parent boards there is a little boy named Landon. He has Mitochondrial Myopathy Complex III. Currently he is in the ICU in TX due to fungal sepsis. He is on a vent and they are having to give him large bolus’s of sedation to keep him from fighting the vent. Landon is a “monkey” boy… which obviously hits a sweet spot with me. A group of people are putting together an effort to decorate Landon’s room with monkeys!! If you would like to mail a well wish and a monkey to Landon the information is on his Caringbridge site:

I encourage you to visit his site and reading about him and his incredible family and to PRAY for healing for his body and rest for his mommy and peace for the entire family. A prayer is a simple and FREE way to help someone. Having been the recipient of MANY prayers I know that you can FEEL them. Your days go by faster, easier, smoother, things just seem to work out right, our kids take a turn for the best and start making progress… and regardless of whether you think so or not, prayers work.

Join me in sending prayers to Landon and his family.

I checked out his CB page last night-he is in our prayers. He looks like a fighter :)
