The Children’s Miracle Network Radiothon for the Kentucky Children’s Hospital will be held August 21-23, 2008. Today we were HONORED to be invited to tell Kyleigh’s story in preparation for the Radiothon. We had an interview that was about an hour that will be cut and spliced into 3 minutes or so of a “montage” which will be broadcast on 92.9 The Bear. I will post here and let everyone know what time period we think it will air and they also said that we could get an mp3 copy of the montage after the Radiothon.
I never imagined today would be as emotional as it was. At one point EVERYONE in the room was crying. Its hard to express with words how thankful we are to have Kyleigh here with us and to have had the privilege of being guided by so many amazing medical professionals.
The first question of the day was posed to us: Why do you believe in Miracles? My response was instinctive and quick… it was not something that I had to think about… “Because I live with one… our daughter is a miracle and I have the privilege of being there for her journey.” I have to say that this question blinded me. I think they ask this question first because it opens the floodgates of emotions. After that single question I just picked up the box of tissue and stuffed a whole wad into my hands.
I think that in thinking toward Ky’s birthday party next week… I am really going to be more emotional than I think… which is odd because as of late I have not been a “crier”…. but there are some places in your heart that are still “tender to the touch”. This is obviously one of them!
