You know… this journey that we are on. I think that anyone who ends up in a situation like the one we are in has a CHOICE. How do you look at the world? What do you see when you look out your window or when you walk down the street?

I have talked many times about how different I realize that I am now, versus two years ago. I used to be something of a Twizzler… all twisted and wimpy but tough on the inside. Now? I am definitely an M&M. Tough yet tasty outer shell and sweet and soft inside. Which is quite the change. Either way I have always felt myself to be somewhat of a tender heart. I always cry at movies. I always feel bad for a dead animal on the side of the road (especially when it happens to be one of my beaver friends on Old Higbee Mill ). I always want to stop and give someone on the side of the road change. I always wish I could save the world.

This journey that our family has been on has been one that serves to either make or break you. I like to think that this has not only MADE me but has refined me. Of course one can never be refined with a little fire. I have accepted that.

Most of all I have found reknewed faith in the human race. Truly, we see horrible things everyday but those things… like our lives come and go. Its the things that we DO while we are here that live on. The differences that we make. I am aboslutely in love with the “Responsibility” commercials by some Insurance company. It is our responsibility to be GOOD people. To help others and to bring hope to the hopeless. Whether you are religious or not this applies to you.

Every week for the past few months I have continued to receive in the mail packages. Packages small and large, light and heavy, amazing and wonderful. All of the packages they have come with love and hope. Their senders will never know what it means to us to know that there are people out there who are loving and supporting us everyday. Our burdens are HUGE but knowing that there are others there shouldering it with us is truly amazing.

An amazing Target gift card from a Sorority Sister whom I have never met. With much Xi Love Mel sent us a wonderful gift of happiness from the happiest place on earth!! LOL

From Toni (another mom whose adorable baby girl was born with IA) came a HUGE box of diapers! I did not even know they CAME that big!

From a dear photographer friend Michelle – And AMAZING case of Diapers. You will never know what a relief it is to go into my closet and see it full and know that no matter how many we run through there are more!

From Angie – The biggest stash of WIPES i have ever seen! Which is great because we were running on empty on those. Ky seems to require inordinate amounts of wipes anymore.

And possibly the best package yet- a box of three things…

I cannot tell you the shrill screams that ensued from opening that box. These were things that were won by another friends Carla and were donated to us. Carla… you should have seen the looks on my boys faces when they opened that box. You know I truly believe it had NOTHING to do with what was inside. These are kids who want for nothing. Yet they knew. They KNEW that these toys were special. Sent with love. They could FEEL it all the way in Kentucky via Canada!
