THAT my friends equals one of the WORST pains you will ever feel in your life. I was for SURE I was dying. Gallbladder, childbirth… can’t hold a candle to this bad boy!

Yes, the medical anomalies abound in the Schmidt Family. Monday evening I was admitted to the hospital after a CT scan showed a Torsed Appendage of the Sigmoid colon. Good news is… RARE few of these need surgical intervention. Bad news is… it could take weeks to resolve on its own!

Basically a part of my colon is twisted around itself and dying off… this is usually okay because the body just absorbs it but in the mean time it is EXTREMELY painful. It comes with a plethora of LOVELY symptoms that I will spare you the details about but we will just say… I have lost 10 lb in 10 days. Percocet and Phenergan are my friends.

Three IV’s and a week later I am home. Waiting to see if this will do its thing and go away on its own… fingers crossed and prayers said that there is no OR in my future!!!

And yes… I figure if I take pics of Sissy in the hospital I should not be spared of the humiliation myself… so here I am in all my hospital gowned glory. I look happily drugged eh?
