My Perfect Polka Dot Tree!!!

Posted by Amber On December - 22 - 2008

It took me almost two weeks to actually get up the nerve to decorate my tree. That is sorely unlike me who thinks that Thanksgiving was really just a holiday created for us to be able to prepare for Christmas! I have a hard time getting back into the groove of things when I make a plan or a list and something on that plan or list just does NOT go right. You throw a chink in my chain and I just cannot deal with it!

I was AHEAD of schedule this year. Christmas pics were done for the card… the theme was planned and THEN I landed in the hospital. NICE. I felt so bad I literally had NO energy and certainly not enough to be creative and create this PERFECT tree I so desperately wanted.

Troy placed all 1500 lights on it and it just glowed. He kept trying to help by putting garland on the railings and adding a few things each day but I just could not bring myself to do it. He and I actually had a talk about how I live in fear of failure. I would rather not TRY at all than to try and fail. But what was I scared of? Anything on this tree would be better than NOTHING! So I finally just did it. Ornaments were strewn all over the living room, kitchen AND dining room. Glitter and snow dust everywhere… our house literally exploded a Christmas tree!

I have to say that I am rather proud of this tree! Its that same feeling I get when I watch my couple’s slide shows of their wedding photos that I created, or when I get that ONE money shot at a session and I just KNOW that it can’t get any better… that feeling. This tree is perfect. Absolutely Perfect! My perfect polka dot Christmas tree has come to life.

Love your tree, Amber! That is something that you would see out of a christmas catalog. How do you keep Ky from stripping it?LOL.
Our tree looks pretty pathetic as its decorated from the middle up.Maggie just won’t leave the ornaments alone.LOL. But like you I’m happy we’re home this year for her to not leave them alone.

Oh yes, we’ll be coming to Cincinnati in Feburary.

that is the most beautifull tree I have ever seen. I just subscribed to your blog. I am a Vaters mommy in joliet and I was wondering how did you like the care in cinci for her repair surgery. Makenzie my baby just had hers a few months ago and I am so unhappy with the care she received at Loyola. I think she may have to have a redo. Anyway here is her page if you would like to visit. we love new friends!!
