I have to say that there are some things in life that really do just bring a smile to my face! I absolutely LOVE to open the mail and there be something besides a bill or junk mail!

I know I have been down for the count for almost a week but in that time I received so many beautiful packages full of coupons and notes from blog readers. I do have to say I have the best set of friends and bloggy friends a girl could ever ask for!

I do need to highlight one extra special package that came. There was a note and a cute little card in it that really touched my heart. The thing that we sometimes take for granted is that so many children are LIVING with VACTERL’s. In truth my daughter has a LIFE ALTERING condition that causes issues in SO MANY systems that sometimes one or all of those issues can claim a child’s life. This note came from Dylan’s mommy Katrina. Dylan was born June 11, 2008. He was on earth 6 beautiful days before the complications of VACTERLs took hold and he earned his wings. Read more about him here: http://indylansmemory.blogspot.com/

I honestly have to say it was never presented to us by ANY of our doctors that VACTERL could lead to death for Kyleigh. Even with open heart surgerys, even with no anus, even with intestines that don’t work… we never thought that she would die. Every time a see the story of another prcious little one like Dylan I am forced to think about how much of a miracle Kyleigh really is. There are babies who are stillborn completely perfect yet Kyleigh, in all her flawed glory, is alive and relatively healthy.

I will never understand the plan but I guess that is why I am human. I will have to ask God these things when I get to heaven…

I am going to add Dylan’s mommy and Daddy, Katrina and Justin to our prayer blog. It amazes me how peaceful and strong they are in their writings on their blog. I have to stop for just a moment and be so incredibly thankful because our life could be so different right now.

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for allowing Kyleigh to stay here with us and for doing miraculous works in her body. Thank you for every moment we spend with her and every beautiful day she awakens.
