Hi/Lo Thursday

Posted by Amber On March - 12 - 2009

I often read the blog of The Riggs Family. Their daughter Abby is battling cancer. They adopted Abby from Guatemala when she was 6 months old. She is now 4 years old. I know as well as anyone how many ups and downs there are even hour to hour in the hospital. I am praying for this family and hope that you will join me.

You can read their story here: http://www.riggsfamilyblog.com/2009/01/about-abby.html

So today… Thursday my Hi’s:

- The two huge boxes of diapers that arrived on our doorstep this week.
- The 6 more diaper coupons I have to get more DEALS on Diapers at Walgreens.
- The $5 I am going to save on the Dreft I NEED at Toys R Us!
- My hubby coming home at 2 pm everyday! (this is seriously the best thing ever!)
- Owen being sweet and helping me make lunch for the other two.
- Grey’s Anatomy tonight! Need I say more?
- The “bad, angry, pissed off” days are fewer and further between! I have gone almost an entire month without thinking about HER or anything about THE THING…. wow… I rock!
- I got to hang out with my girlfriend Ali and get an awesome stash of diapers! Hey… a girl’s got to have a buddy to raid the Walgreens at 2 am!!!!!!!

The week’s Lo’s:

– Icky weather in back in Lexington… go away 30 degrees!
- Kyleigh is under the weather… she’s got a fever and cloudy urine… (yeah I know… no good)
- The UK Basketball team is sucking eggs the minute the clock struck March… WHAT IS UP?
- The “situation” with Troy’s parents… yeah I haven’t even gotten into that yet. Just pray is all
I can say…. they obviously have no appreciation for the fact that I BIRTHED their grandkids.
- I had “bad, angry, pissed off” day the other day incited by a “meeting: read screaming match” between Troy and his dad.
- I ran out of laundry detergent with ONE load left to go… seriously?
- Lil Lambs Closet LOST two of my items: a high chair and cradle swing… how do you LOOSE those???? Seriously someone needs to eddy up the money!

So…. feel free to share your Hi’s and Lo’s … I would love to hear them!

I’m new to your blog (by way of Kelly’s Korner) and initially I was going to respond to your Hi/Lo post and say one of your Lo’s just got better because the Cats won! Woo hoo! Yes, I’m not only a Cata fan, I also live right here in LexVegas! But then I kept reading and read your amazing, touching story of your precious Kyleigh. I found myself sitting on the edge of my chair, tears in my eyes, my heart racing, waiting to hear how dear Kyleigh was today. I couldn’t have been happier or more relieved to hear of her last few hospital-free months! She’s truly a miracle and your family’s perseverance can’t be ignored. Being a relatively new mother myself, I can only imagine what this has been like for you and your husband and your other 2 children. I’m so glad I found you and I look forward to reading more about your living miracle!!

    Hmmm.
    No Hi’s for us unfortunatley.
    Our Lo’s.
    1. We have snow on the ground , again and even when it goes away the weather will be in the 40′s for the rest of the week.

    2. Our 9 yr old is going to break us at the dentist next month with needing a tooth removed and about 6 cavities filled. Sigh. Reflux ate at her enamel and I wished I had the internet when she was little because I would of learned not to listen to her pediatrician and had them put her on some reflux meds.

    3. Bought some butt creme at Target because I ran out of Calmoseptine and its just a gross tube, all watery. Can’t take it back not going to drive 45 miles to take it back to exchange it. Am broke for the next 3 weeks so not sure what I’m going to put on Maggie’s butt. Sigh.

    4. My girls decided to play stupid today with their school work.

    5. We have the neighbor from hell. She decided to let our other neighbor know that my husband supposedly hit on her , the kicker is she likes black men. One problem. My husaband isn’t black and the other problem my husband HATES her with a passion.

    6. No sunshine. Need light.

    7. Not having a good week getting out of bed since the daylight savings time change. I’m going to bed at almost 2 am and waking up at 10. Not good when you need to get up and homeschool your children that are also still asleep at 10 am.

    8. Need money. Tired of being broke.

I guess I do only have one Hi. That Maggie isn’t sick.

Thx for the comment, next time you are coming Children’s maybe we could meet for lunch, my entire family is in Casey County, KY-looks like you are close to Lexington.

I have followed your blog since Kate and James Vermillion’s wedding last June. I am so astonished at the willpower you continue to show through all the trials He has put you through! I love your blog and also your AMAZING photography!

I just saw your comment about the sheets!! Genius! haha. I’ll have to do that because it’s such a dang hassle putting those things on. The spitting up has almost disappeared but she still manages to get her sheets gross from a little spit and LOTS of drool. (They’re white so they show everything!) And the stuffed Snoop Dogg- ANNOYING. We have to take it away from her at night or else we would never get any sleep. She drags that thing everywhere haha.

You have such an amazing story with munchkin. She is so strong! What is happening with Troy’s padres?
