Can I just tell you… I love reading blogs… truly. I love seeing all the pics of the cute kiddies and I love MckMama’s blog the most, because her children are always appropriately (and adorably) dressed! Always with cute leggings and shoes… even Stellan is usually in a cute pair of jeans and shirt… I can probably count on one hand (maybe not even that) the number of times I have seen her kids in a onsie. WHY? Because as most of America understands… ONESIES do NOT an outfit make. I am pretty sure that Stacy and Clinton would be much objectionable to us starting our child off on the wrong fashion foot.
Seriously… there are other blogs I read and even friends in real life who seem to think that a onesie suffices for clothing… NO. It just does NOT! If you read on the package onesies CLEARLY state that they are UNDERshirts… meaning – to be worn UNDER the shirt!
I don’t care how many ruffles or monograms or ribbons you put ON a onesie…. its STILL a onesie and thereby still a piece of UNDERCLOTHING! So please people… show off those $50 dresses that you bought for your kid and leave the undershirts for the fall – to go UNDER things…

Also not a big onesie-as-an-outfit fan here. I do not like seeing anyone’s underwear whether they be 2 or 72. That being said I think onesies are essential to be worn, under clothing. I have, of course had to modify my believe to use the cute little Hanes’ “wifebeater” toddler tshirts to make cathing easier. My only exception- a temp over 100 earns you the right to shed the layers! No wonder why Benji has a temp so much- he is clearly MANIPULATING me.

Okay so maybe it’s not an outfit…but when the weather gets hot comfort is the key. Whether it be onesie or dress outfit makes no difference to me! The fact that my baby (not toddler or young child) be comfortable when going out may be a fashion faux pas but who cares! There is plenty of time later in life that we have to be dressed in regular clothes….. let the little babies be in comfort! Why we need them to be all dolled up for every moment of the day is beyond me. Do you not have any down time? When we choose to leave home then the outfits go on. I am busy enough that we get plenty of wear out of our “$50″ outfits. Don’t make a judgement call on a photo that may have been taken during down time for a family or heaven forbid actually posted for others to see…..I guess if I posted a photo of my kid in pj’s that would mean I don’t have enough fashion sense to even ‘dress’ my own child. To each his own! Children shouldn’t be made to suffer adult ignorance concerning fashion. Here’s to the parents brave enough or down to earth enough to post ANY photo of their kid no matter how they are dressed!
See I knew the insults would fly eventually! Its still not an outfit… call it parental ignorance or whatever you want… but its not. And yes… my kids even have GOOD pj’s… (Ky has them mostly because of the hospital) but yes … I believe in matching PJ’s too!
As for the “Do you not have any down time?” question. Pretty much no… LOL Its wedding season. I don’t get the privilege of down time again until November, then its the holidays… oh wait that really means no down time again until January- oh then its Ross’ birthday… so scoot that date forward to February. Yeah… in February I should get some downtime again! ROFL
The only time you see my kids only in a onsie…is if were out at a store or resturant and they just pooped through there outfit…and that was what I had stashed in the diaper bag.
Otherwise…yes my children wear clothing.
And do not get me started on wife beater shirts.
In FL they are essential to prevent your child from getting heat exhaustion.
and maybe its the fact that Ky’s circulation (from her heart being bad) was SO bad that even though she was born in July we kept her bundled like an eskimo and she was STILL constantly cold! Both of the boys were winter babies… maybe that is where my lack of appreciation for the onsie comes from… LOL
PS… its totally ok to disagree with me… its just a little pet peeve of my very own! LOL
