This photo was inspired by the new Amy Grant song- Unafraid. The words go like this:
Unafraid Lyrics by Amy Grant
Woke up this morning with you in our bed, Going over and over everything you said
Who taught you how to speak the words that you say? I’ve always wanted to be talked to that way.
Love has made… has made you unafraid.
Watching my children finding their way, through the struggles and trials… and heartbreak
I hope the roads they take are makin them strong, I’ll still be on my knees long after they’re gone.
Love has made… Love has made… Love has made … has made me unafraid.
My lovely mother is gettin on in years, and the way her body’s aging brings her girls to tears.
The way she trembles with each effort she makes, she just says Heaven’s getting closer each day.
Love has made…. Love has made…. Love has made.. has made her unafraid.
Love could make, Love can make, Love WILL make … make you………
unafraid.
So why does this song strike me with this photo. Because in creating this photo, James and Randa would never have known it but behind that camera I had tears. The way the light was skimming over them it looked as if God was smiling on them. See James and Randa have a special story. James is living with leukemia. You only have to talk to James for a few minutes to realize that he WILL beat this Cancer and will live a long happy life. In the mean time it is a struggle. Financially, emotionally, spiritually even. Yet, when you see these two together they are unafraid of it all. All they see ahead of them is a life, more abundant. They see hope and a future. If we could all see those things even when we face trials in our lives, the world would be much different.
Tonight my prayer is that God would allow me to be unafraid. I pray that He will fill me with his hope and peace and that no matter how the economy looks, or how life tries to get me down, that HE would fill me with joy and LIFE… more abundantly.
PS… James recently became the minister of students at Rosemont Baptist Church and we wanted to send a big Congratulations to him. I am also proud to add that I will be spending Randa and James’ wedding day with them as their photographer. It will be my HONOR and PRIVILEGE to be there with them as they begin their new life together!

wow that is a powerful story behind this and I surely would’ve had tears in my eyes behind the camera just as I did looking at this photo
Blessings to them both and to you
Thanks for the practical words and inspirational ones. You are wise beyond your years. Thank you again
