Amber, you rock. Completely and totally.

When I was looking online for others who'd gone through this, there weren't many pictures of a true heroine. Just a lot of pain or "you go girl" (as in pack up your bags and go). I love what you wrote about fighting for what could be.

The mental image of that Valkrie spirit is sort of amazing. I'm so glad you put it out there. The real true power in love. Not the wishy-washy helpless sentiment, but the real heart blazing thing.

Rock on, Amber. Rock on!

Mr. Schmidt ~ In all do respect, there is a time and a place for "personal family issues" to be addressed. This bog is not it! I for one follow this blog because I believe that Amber is a wise person and offers advice and opinions on all subject matters. Whether or not she practices (which I believe she does) what she preaches is between her and her God. I come to this blog when I need to feel uplifted or learn or simply check up on Kyleigh, not feel up in the middle of whatever this family debate/disagreement is! If you are trying to dis-credit Amber and/or Troy as parents or as a couple, I believe that you will be hard-pressed to convince ANY of the "followers" of this blog to take your side!

I bring this to your attention and ask that you keep from further "comments" such as the last two for those of us that are not interested in your "famliy business"!

I have never even seen Dora the Explorer, but the guy had it and it is a good price, so oh well haha. For Saturday, I'm still not sure what she'll wear yet. Not a high priority since it's mainly just getting together with friends and I'm not really decorating or anything. We weren't even going to do one here but got talked into it ha! For her big party, the theme is sock monkey (girl sock monkey, we added bows to them) and we got a really cute sock monkey fabric, and got a shirt appliqued and monogrammed with that, some monogrammed bloomers, probably a tutu to go with it and I need to make a new bow to match. It'll be so stinking cute. I found the CUTEST cupcake toppers on etsy of a girl sock monkey and then her smash cake is the sock monkey head, but made into a girl! I can't wait!!!

Amber, Jeff Reeves. I have been reading your comments on Abigail's blog, and finally made it to yours today. I too want to add my applause to your decision to the do that hard but right thing. In that, you were definitely the hero in your story. And your Husband seems to have played that hero role too, as many don't have the humility to make long term to change to make a marriage work.

And what an angel that Kyleigh is. After reading her diagnosis, our little problem seems so trivial. Wow, she and you must be very special people. I can't imagine the strength that it takes to live with that kind of uncertainty for so long. We caught a glimpse of that uncertainty--thought for a brief moment. And we learned that Heavenly Father compensates tremendously.

One thing I have learned as I have spoken with mothers like you is that Heavenly Father makes those burdens lighter than they otherwise would be, and he replaces a good amount of that pain with an exponential increase in love. Blessings. Mine and Lisa's hat is off to you!

I applaud you for your decision. And although you would have made it as a single mom, the applause would be quite similar to what you are recieving now. Seldom are single moms regarded for what they did right, in my experience. Seldom do people stop to ask, why exactly they are single. You did the hard thing, and I applaud you for it. May God continue to bless your marriage and your family.
