Today, the first Sunday of January is the single biggest coupon edition of the paper that will occur in the year 2010!!!  You do NOT want to miss it!  I assure you!  Now, for those of you in Lexington, the big hitch here is that the Lexington Herald Leader notriously SUCKS for coupons.  We always get shorted coupons from the Redplum and sometimes entire INSERTS.  Take for Example today’s Louisville Courier Journal.  The journal today includes:

• TWO Smartsource
• TWO Redplum
• and
• General Mills insert.

Their front page touts $446 in coupons!!!!!!!!  The HL has only $136 in coupons… that is a SIZEABLE difference.  It was enough difference for me to forgo buying the Herald and buy ONLY the Courier Journal today.  Now that hang up with the CJ is that there are no ADS in there for Lexington.  So you would have to find those online but for every store I frequent the ads can be found on their websites!!!  So that is no loss for me!

To boot… the Courier only costs $1.75 each whereas the HL is up to $2!!!!!!!!!!!!  Sure thing I will pay LESS money for MORE coupons!  That is a DEAL in my mind!

So how do you GET the Courier Journal… ?  Unbeknown to me, certain Lexington Area Kroger stores carry the Courier Journal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  So everyone, GO NOW to Kroger and search out those Journals!!  Happy hunting and I hope you emerge victorious with your coupon inserts!

• $1/1 Johnson’s (we NEVER get this coupon in Lexington!!!!!)

• $1 Neosporin
• $2.50 Electrasol – equal CHEAP dishwasher tabs at Dollar General!
• $10 / 1 Alli
• $2/1 Nivea Body Wash (hoping for a sale on this soon!!!!!- I love this stuff!)
• $0.75/1 Any McCormick Spice = CHEAP spices at Kroger- at some locations the grinders are 10/$10
• $0.40/4 Campbells Soups
• $1/1 V8 Splash
• Lysol Coupons – various items and amounts… save these – its about time for a 1/2 off Lysol sale at Meijer again!  When the 1/2 off happens it makes most of the cleaners less than $1 each!
• $0.40/1 Green Giant Fresh Valley Steamers (a huge hit in my house… makes these nearly FREE with a 10/10 sale!)
