I realized, finally, that feeling burnt out and maxed out was mostly, my OWN doing.  Sucks to say it but true just the same.

I need to take time to catch all my bloggy friends up on my world but until I have time for that insanely long post I will give you the short version:

March 20 (something…) we closed on our old and moved OUT!.  Signed sealed delivered… done!  We moved INto my parent’s home.  At this point… my parent’s new “apartment” is still months away from completion because we never anticipated the house selling that quickly (although we prayed and hoped it would be so).  So… here we are … one big happy family.  Most days.

April was a work month.  Work on this and that and more of this and that.  And work until you think you cannot work anymore and its STILL not done.  Feeling a bit hopeless and thinking there is no end in sight.  Oiy vey.

May.  My little sister is in a car accident and totals her boyfriend’s car.  Now I would be the first one to razz on my sister about her driving faux pa’s but this one… truly not her fault!  So she is minus 1 job and plus 1 wheelchair due to a surgery that took 18 pins an helluva long plate to put her ankle back together.  This means… yes folks… enter younger sister into house and boyfriend for most waking hours of the day.

June comes with its necessary sundries.  WEDDING season is upon us and to say I have not a minute to breathe is probably right.  But here I sit blogging… how is that?  LOL

So… now that you are caught up… (oh yeah and somewhere along the way.. enters one new Dog as anniversary present to my father from my mother… 6 month old Pomeranian puppy named Emerson… yup… called her an idiot!)

At any rate… my sister, sitting aound the house, able to do WAY more than she lets on and generally feeling sorry for herself was given a lecture about what “I” would do if “I” had all this time on my hands.  (I mean that is what big sisters are good for right?)  So it began…  “you know… I would love to have NOTHING to do all day except sit around, watch TV and be on the computer… if only I had SO much to do I would get myself a tan, catch up on reading, find something artsy to do…” oh the place my imagination went…..

At any rate… my sister… having done none of these things I would LOVE to have time to do.. susequently pissed me off.  So I decided.  I was going to read a magazine, on the back porch, in my bathing suit, in the sun, while my kids played in the pool.  So I did.

I read exactly 1/2 of all the articles in some random edition of Parent’s magazine and you know what.  I LIKED IT!  A LOT!  LOL  I could have sat down and delved into an installment of the latest Oprah book club recommendation but I would have gotten all of 10 pages into it, stained by chlorine water, and I am sure by that point I would have had to referee someone or make some meal or fulfill some other motherly duty but a magazine.  It’s a perfect fit!  How to tips to motivate, a little comedic escape about Potty Training by Jay Mahr and I solved my house cleaning conundrum all in the span of 45 minutes… wow.. now that is what I call a GOOD day!  I think I mght try it again tomorrow!Recent Comments:

Last night we got to spend some time with our buddies, Sean and Amber (and their kiddos… they have three and one on the way- totaling 4 soon!)  Sean is Troy’s best friend since… well as long as we can remember… I think maybe elementary or middle school ?  How funny that two best friends married two Ambers?  At any rate and Amber and I have been alternating being PG so our kids are literally stair steps… 7,6,5,4,3,2, and now the new baby.  I told Amber that I would not be joining the ranks of her PG’ed ness any time soon!  LOL

But I digress…  I walked into their house last night and (aside from the fact that I TOLD Troy that they would have their Christmas tree up and I was RIGHT!!!!!!  I am so behind already!) I smelled the most heavenly smell.  I am pretty sure heaven will smell like Scentsy’s “Welcome Home” scent.  I mean really.. I can honestly say I never thought anything would surpass my Bath and Body Warm Vanilla Sugar… but this one wins HANDS DOWN!  If you are in Lexington and having a Scentsy party or are a Rep… I need to invest!!!  (or should I say my hubby needs to invest for Christmas!)  LOL

Yes its Derby Week in ye` olde Kentucky and what else is there to do this weekend but center it around a 2 minute horse race??? We will have several things on the agenda for the weekend including the Evening of Champions Derby Eve Gala to benefit the Makenna Foundation.

We all know how near and dear Kentucky Children’s Hospital is to my heart. The Makenna Foundation serves as one of the largest single benefactors to the hospital and is working on completing their donation of several million dollars to cover the cost of the Makenna David Pediatric ER!!!!! God knows that we frequent the ER enough. I always get a little misty eyed when I grace the doors knowing HOW THANKFUL I am to the Foundation and Greg and Sheila for making that place as amazing as it is. Its also a little bittersweet to know that its Makenna’s ER……. I just hope that we never end up building any “Kyleigh Schmidt” memorial facilities.

I highly encourage you to get your black tie attire on and JOIN US!!! Troy and I will be there photographing IN STYLE and enjoying the evening. If you attend, PLEASE COME find us so we can take your picture!Recent Comments:

I have to say that my kids are some of the funniest people I know. They never cease to amaze me with their antics!

The other day we had some leftover Jello from making jiggler eggs (see post coming soon!) and so me, being the WASTE not person I am, felt the need to use the jello for something. Then I had a stroke of brilliance. So people put alcohol in jello- to make jello shots… why could we not put MEDICINE in them and make a nasty tasting medicine battle into a TREAT??

It worked out well for Ross (but then again he is willing to take any med by mouth anyhow so not the intended purpose!) but Owen was not having it! The conversation that ensued was funny to hear coming from my 4 year old.

Ross: “DAAAAAAAddy .. Owen did int (because in Ross speak there is no Didn’t… only did uhnt) eaten his JELLO SHOT!”
Owen: ” I don’t waannnnnnnt the jello sing (read: thing)”
Ross: “We cannot let his Jello Shot go bad.. oh no no no!”
Troy: “Its okay Ross we will put it up for later”
Ross: “Ok Dad but my belly says it needs another Jello Shot”

* By this point the two of us are nearly in tears.. our 4 year old had just said “Jello Shot 3 times in under a minute * omgoodness…

So yes… I have a LOT of these moments and Jessica A replied to one of my stories the other day saying that was one for the “MckMama Not Me Monday”! So, I cannot remember what the story actually WAS but I am sure it will be long lost in my list of NOT ME’s!

So here goes…

I DEFINITELY do NOT ever use my Iphone to take pics of my kids because I am too lazy to get out the 40D. Nope… and I certainly do have an entire month where I used the Iphone as the primary camera (once again too lazy to don the 40D).

I do not ever allow my Kyleigh to sleep in the boys room at the FOOT of Ross’ bed and I certainly don’t allow her to do it for both nap AND bed time! Not me!

I also do NOT have a freak infatuation with eating GIRL SCOUT cookies like a buffet. 1 Shortbread, 1 Peanut Butter Pattie, 1 Caramel Delight and a Thin mint last. Nope. I also would NEVER think of finishing off the last box of cookies and hiding the evidence in the recycling bin! NEVER EVER would I do that!

I most certainly did not let my husband take ALL three kids to Walgreens last night while also sending him with COUPON freebies to handle while also picking up a few necessities. I also did not subsequently sound bummed when he came home with SKIM milk instead of 2%… sigh.

I also definitely would NEVER be caught dead eating Ben and Jerry’s Birthday Cake Ice Cream in bed at 11 pm watching Made of Honor. Yes… I DID get past the main character’s name enough NOT to vomit my very expensive Ice Cream! LOL

I definitely would never avoid the Doctor’s office on Friday afternoon allowing my poor princess to get REALLY sick over the weekend because I am totally in denial! Nope. Well maybe… but only if I was calling right at 8 am to get an appointment on Monday.

I also do not EVER beg my husband to stay home from work because I am cramping and then allow him to clean the house while I stay in bed until noon. BUT… I MIGHT take my free time when he is home and find some good free or super cheap deals to make grocery shopping better this week! ;)
